About the system
What is Business Online?
Business Online is a Norwegian-developed SaaS platform that combines CRM, project management, HR, quality, and document control in a single system.
It’s modular and designed to give businesses overview, control, and improved cross-departmental collaboration. The goal is to replace siloed tools with one unified platform that simplifies daily operations for the entire organization.
Who is Business Online for?
Business Online is tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises seeking more structure and oversight.
It’s particularly valuable for project-based industries like oil & gas, construction, maritime, and consultancy—but its flexibility allows it to adapt to other sectors as well.
Which modules are included in Business Online?
The platform offers modules for CRM, project management, QHSE, and HRM.
You can use these individually or as a fully integrated suite—start with one (e.g., CRM or Projects) and add others later without changing platforms. All modules seamlessly share data.
Do we need to buy the entire system, or can we start with just one module?
You can begin with a single module and expand as needed.
Many customers start with either the Projects or CRM module and add more features when the demand grows—resulting in a scalable solution without complex system changes.
How does Business Online differ from other systems?
Instead of multiple standalone tools, Business Online provides an all-in-one platform.
By integrating CRM, project management, HR, QHSE, and document control, the system reduces silos, enhances visibility, and delivers greater value per project.
Can Business Online be customized to fit our workflows?
Yes. The platform allows you to tailor processes, roles, and reporting—without custom development.
Users can adjust workflows, lists, and dashboards to match their daily routines, meaning the system adapts to the company—not vice versa.
Setup & implementation
How quickly can we get started with Business Online?
System setup takes 2–3 weeks, after which you can start using it from day one.
Once built for your organization, you can immediately log deviations, tasks, and projects. Full training occurs over the following implementation period.
What does the implementation process involve?
There’s a training-driven implementation of up to three months to ensure your team learns to use the system effectively.
This isn’t just technical setup—it's about education, with workshops, interactive digital manuals, videos, and guidance, delivered step-by-step.
Can we use the system while implementation is ongoing?
Yes, the system is fully functional from the very first day, even while training continues.
Many customers begin with essential features like deviation logging or project tasks, while superusers and staff gradually become more proficient.
What type of training do new users receive?
All staff get access to a digital user manual with interactive videos.
In addition, a superuser team (recommended 3–5 people) receives in-depth training from a Business Online consultant.
This “teach-the-teacher” model empowers superusers to support colleagues and ensure knowledge is shared effectively across the organization.
What does implementation cost?
Implementation is priced separately on a fixed-cost basis—based on selected modules and training scope—so you know the cost upfront.
This ensures full transparency and predictability, with no hidden fees or unexpected expenses along the way.
What happens if we encounter issues during rollout?
Our Norwegian support team is here to guide you every step of the way.
From the start, we work closely with your organization to ensure a smooth onboarding. You can rely on quick, reliable support for both practical questions and unexpected challenges. Support is available via phone, email, and chat. Superusers receive extra guidance, enabling them to act as valuable internal resources and secure long-term success with Business Online.
Ease of use & functionality
Is Business Online difficult to use?
No—it’s designed to be intuitive and user-friendly.
Built on Microsoft 365, you continue using familiar tools like Word, Excel, and Outlook, while gaining structured handling of projects, quality, QHSE, HR, and CRM. Most users can get started quickly without heavy training.
Can the system adapt to our work processes?
Yes. Business Online lets you mirror your organization’s existing workflows without bespoke development.
You can configure workflows, lists, and reports so the platform adapts to your organization—but for those needing more advanced features, custom extensions are available.
How do we get oversight of projects, responsibilities, and deadlines?
Within a personalized area called My Page.
With My Page users can see their tasks, projects, and deadlines, while managers gain visibility into progress, capacity, and risk—ensuring transparency, control, and fewer misunderstandings.
How is access and roles managed in Business Online?
Access is role-based.
Users only see what they need (e.g., HR, project managers, QHSE, contract managers, admins).
Permissions can be set for full access, read-only, or contribution without deletion rights—maintaining security and clarity.
Can external partners access Business Online?
Yes—external collaborators can receive limited, secure access to specific workspaces and documents.
Hosted on Microsoft 365, access is managed via role-based authorizations, ensuring partners see only what’s relevant—without exposing the entire system.
This way, you can collaborate closely with suppliers, customers, or partners without compromising security or control.
How are documents and NCRs handled?
Business Online provides integrated document management with version control and quality assurance, while deviations (NCRs) are managed through intuitive reporting tools and dashboards.
The QHSE module includes a document management system (QDMS) for procedures, templates, and documentation with version history and approvals.
Deviations (NCRs), observations, and improvements can be logged via intuitive forms—and managed with dashboards, trend analysis, and Power BI visualizations.
Is Business Online accessible on mobile and tablet?
Yes—it’s cloud-based and available on PC, mobile, and tablet.
This makes it easy to log deviations, update projects, or access documents whether you're in the office, on-site, or offshore.
